As a food and beverage business owner or operator, you may already know the benefits new technology could bring your business. However, in these trying economic times, it can be difficult to find the budget to fund new software for your business.

We truly believe investing in technology, especially accounting automation, is well worth it and will pay for itself in the long term. Regardless, we know not all businesses are in a position to handle these upfront costs.

Luckily, the Canadian government has introduced the Canadian Digital Adoption Program (CDAP), which provides business technology grants to businesses across Canada.

Read on to learn how you can leverage CDAP to help support you in advancing your company’s technology.

What is the Canadian Digital Adoption Program?

The $4 billion Canadian Digital Adoption Program (CDAP) is a grant program open to certain Canadian businesses that want to digitally transform their business operations. Started in 2021, it’s a four-year program taking applicants until 2025.

Who qualifies for the Canadian Digital Adoption Program?

According to the Government of Canada webpage for CDAP, you can apply for CDAP if:

  • You’re an owner or director (or an authorized director) of the company
  • Your business is:
    • Canadian-owned
    • For-profit
    • 1 to 499 employees in size
    • At least $500,000 in annual revenue in 1 of the last 3 years

What can you use the CDAP for?

All types of businesses can apply, including food and beverage companies. The government lists the following benefits as reasons you may seek out the grant:

  • Reduce overhead costs
  • Speed up transactions
  • Respond to clients more quickly
  • Manage inventory more efficiently
  • Improve supply chain logistics

Coincidentally, Notch also helps food and beverage businesses achieve all of the above with accounts receivable and accounts payable automation.
